Introduction: Purpose for this Blog

Howdy ya'll!  My name is Landon Bangerter.  I'm currently right now serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  I've been in this service for about 20 months now.  It's been an incredible blessing to serve and help others come unto Christ.  I know that it's through him that true happiness is gained, and I love sharing that love with those that I meet as a missionary.

So now I'm starting this blog and helping others increase their faith in Jesus Christ through it.  To put it very bluntly, we live in a world where there is so much confusion and darkness, that often times it is hard to determine which is the right way and which is not.  We have so many things right now that are currently striving to grasp our attention, such as money, riches, fame, and so on.  Even the things that we feel bring us satisfaction and pleasure can sometimes feel empty and meaningless.  The question that I've most often heard as a missionary is this, to a certain extent: "Where can I find meaning?"  Everyone has these thoughts at one point or another.  Even I did, one who was born and raised in this church.  At some point, we are all going to feel this way, regardless of our background.

Hence the reason why I'm starting this blog.  My testimony is that there is meaning in life.  It is something so deep and so profound, and yet so incredibly meaningful.  It is found through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  The Gospel of Jesus Christ consists of these five things:

1. Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His Atonement
2. Repentance
3. Baptism
4. Receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost
5. Enduring to the End

It's by obedience to these five things that provide lasting meaning to a world that focuses on anything but the Gospel.  So with this blog, I want to start from the beginning.  What I want to do is post on things that is as members of this church believe in.  I testify that this church is the only true Church of Jesus Christ.  The Gospel in it's fullness is found in this church.  I know it.  And you can know it too.  I will first start simple.  My first post will be about God, and who he is exactly.  I pray that as you read these things, the Spirit will testify to you of the truthfullness of the things that I type.  I'll end this post by sharing a Mormon message.  It's a message that really puts into perspective about the things that matter most in this life.  Enjoy!
